Community Bridges

Community Bridges is pleased to sponsor Sibshops – a monthly pedal-to-the-metal celebration of the many contributions made by brothers and sisters of kids with special needs. During each session, we acknowledge that being the brother or sister of a person with special needs is for some a good thing, others a not-so-good thing, and for many, somewhere in-between. We also reflect the belief that brothers and sisters have much to offer one another.

Sibshops are designed for kids between the ages of 6 and 13. Each Sibshop offers a spirited mix of games (designed to be unique, off-beat, and appealing to a wide ability range), the chance to make new friends, and the opportunity to engage in discussion about what it’s like to have a sibling with special needs. Recent Sibshop games and activities include making picture frames, a donut eating contest, dart/balloon games, human bingo, and plenty of running around outside. Lunch is always provided – sometimes we order pizza, sometimes we make “sibsubs.”

If you are interested in a Teen Sibshop, let us know! We would love to start one.

Sibshops are free of charge and typically held the third Saturday each month at  Community Bridges, 70 Pembroke Road. To register, call Courteney Robison at 226-3212 ext. 288 or email us at

Community Bridges is a non-profit agency serving the communities of central New Hampshire. Disability is a natural part of the human experience and may occur as a result of developmental impairments, injury, or aging. We advance the integration, growth, and interdependence of people with disabilities in their home communities in ways that promote their ability to have positive control over the lives they have chosen for themselves.
