We are looking for a Register Behavior Technician (RBT) / Direct Support Person (DSP) to join our team in assisting our 28 y.o. son with Classic Non-Verbal Autism. Our team is comprised of a  large  family,  natural  community  supporters and a behaviorist/coach. The ideal candidate is an out-going person, with experience, Positive Behavioral Support skills as well as experience with verbal/ non-verbal communication. The DSP should enjoy year-round outdoor activities as well as supporting an established routine of jobs, volunteering, eating out, hiking, continued educational skills, etc. Training and overlap will be provided, as well as ongoing support/training by family and our behaviorist. The position is year round with hours roughly being 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM. Pay is commensurate with experience and education. Employee benefits i.e. health, earned time and mileage reimbursement are available through Community Bridges our area agency. Community Bridges is the keeper of records and provider of benefits. We are a Self-Directed Family Program meaning we oversee staff's day to day work, complete reviews, etc.

Looking for a daily companion for our Autistic/Learning disabled 24-year-old son.

 This job opportunity is supervised by the Family, with Community Bridges as the employer of record.

  • Day starts and ends in Deering, work in and around the Concord area.
  • Shift is Monday – Thursday 7:30 to 3:30pm, with some flexibility.
  • Transportation and gas provided while working with client or mileage will be paid (must have clean driving record, full insurance coverage and reliable vehicle).
  • Expectation is to assist, guide and nurture him as he leads his adult life.
    • Drive him to and from his volunteer job in Concord. Supervise/oversee his work while there.
    • Take him to appointments such as physical therapy or dentist.
    • Supervise/oversee his daily chores at home. (Light cleaning, laundry, etc.)
    • Work on specific goals set by family manager. These goals help him continue to grow and develop as an adult, within his capabilities.
    • Assist in the kitchen when help is needed when making lunch.

Note: Client is very self-sufficient. He does not require any medical or physical assistance. He is fun to be around, ready with a smile and loves to talk about sports.

Part-time Direct Support Professional in Concord, New Hampshire

Fun and charismatic 21-year-old young man is looking for a responsible, reliable, and friendly Direct Support Professional for two 6-hour shifts (6 am to noon) on Saturdays and Sundays.  There will also be periodic opportunities to pick up shifts to fill in for the vacations and absences of other DSPs on the team.

This young man is a college student, huge sports fan, and wheelchair user who needs support on all activities of daily living (in the bathroom, showering, etc.) and the job is at times physically demanding.  Applicant should be comfortable with providing personal care while maintaining dignity and respect, and work with a team approach in mind.

Starting rate of pay is $20-22 per hour depending on experience and medical/academic background. Qualifications such as CPR/ first aid certified, LNA/CNA background are preferred.

Clean criminal and driving records a must!  Accessible vehicle is provided by the family during support hours when needed.

Position Description:

A family in the Self-Directed Services (SDS) Program at Community Bridges is looking for a person on a part-time basis who will assist a quiet young woman with Down Syndrome.  The position includes assisting this client to access her community for 20 hours a week in the Weare/Concord area.  The ideal applicant must be a reliable, patient and kind person who is willing to take the initiate to help this young woman find ways to achieve her goals, make plans to join peers with their common activities and achieve success at her volunteer job.  The community pre-planned activities would include:  bowling, the gym, outside activities that are season appropriate (short hikes, basketball), shopping and cooking simple meals.  We would also be open to other ideas that are in line with her written goals.

Support person needed to assist an adult with disabilities Tuesday-Thursday from approximately 9:30-4:30. No weekends. Willing to start immediately. Position pays $15.50 per hour for 20 to 25 hours a week. Year round job. Employee receives lots of earned time. Willing to travel to a variety of activities such as day trips to northern New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine or the Seacoast. Employees receives travel compensation and Family manager pays for all costs for the employee to enjoy various activities including visits to museums, mini golf, visits to farms, travel expenses, etc.

The week includes assisting our son to achieve goals which include fitness, social time with friends, academics and volunteering in the community.  Loves hiking locally and in the north country, mini golf, trampolines, museums, going to the ocean, exercising at the YMCA, picking fruit at farms in the summer, bingo, movies,, going to the library, kayaking, fishing, dances, snow shoeing, etc. Some of the time includes reading, writing letters to friends and math. Volunteering locally washing windows to build skills. Lots of outside activities in the summer and in the cooler months the schedule includes music school, bingo, bowling and being with friends. We will completely train you to be able to comfortably care for the individual if you have no experience but if you have experience with an individual with a disability that is a plus.
