In Memoriam: A Tribute to our Friends and Board Members

Community Bridges mourns the loss of our former Board Member, Brad Hosmer, whose recent passing leaves a deep void in our community.

Brad faithfully served on the Board of Directors from March 1997 to January 2023, providing over 25 years of steady leadership and dedicated service. Throughout his tenure, he brought integrity, thoughtfulness, and a strong commitment to ensuring that individuals with developmental disabilities and their families were supported, respected, and valued. His guidance helped strengthen Community Bridges during pivotal moments, and his vision continues to shape the work we carry forward today.

Beyond his leadership, Brad will be remembered for his kindness, fairness, and unwavering commitment to building inclusive communities. His contributions made a lasting impact, and his legacy endures in the lives touched by Community Bridges.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Brad’s family and friends. We honor his memory with gratitude and celebrate the lasting impact he had on our organization and the people we serve.

John Nathaniel Taylor (1976–2023) served on the Community Bridges Board of Directors for 16 years, where he was known as the “conscience of the Board.” His insight, clarity, and dedication guided thoughtful decision-making and strengthened the mission of Community Bridges.

Beyond his board service, John gave generously of his time—volunteering at the Christa McAuliffe Discovery Center, visiting nursing home residents, serving in his church, and presenting at schools with his service dog, Jessie. His life reflected a deep commitment to service, encouragement, and community.

John also found joy in the outdoors, sharing adventures with his brother Mike, including camping, fishing, canoeing, and exploring the covered bridges of New England. He cherished history, lighthouses, and sporting events, and brought enthusiasm and warmth to every part of life.

Community Bridges remembers John with gratitude for his leadership, kindness, and unwavering spirit of service. His example continues to inspire and guide us.
